Let’s take a magical trip to the tip of Long Island, where the weather is beautiful and sea salt permeates everything.
That’s right, I am talking about historic Montauk, the last town on Long Island.
But, did you know that Montauk is also the place, where you will find the US’ oldest continuously working ranch. The ranch is called Deep Hollow Ranch, which was established in 1628. Patrick Keogh and Cate Keogh are the current owners of this historic ranch.
Rides and Bench Fun
At the ranch, the owners provide people with opportunities to ride on horses in small groups. The groups range from beginners to advanced riders.
In addition, this ranch is very special because it offers rides along the bench. Can you imagine how beautiful and relaxing it is to ride a horse along the bench?
Just close your eyes and imagine the smell of the Atlantic Ocean as you ride on a horse.
If you are interested in providing an opportunity for your children to improve their riding skills, the ranch offers a Summer Pony Camp for children from June to August. The cost is approximately 600 USD for 5 sessions per week or 400 USD for 3 sessions per week.
The program will help your children to improve upon their skills and develop special relationships with their horses.
Presentation of the Indigenous Native American’s Culture
The ranch further offers several Native American presentations, which touch upon the historical culture of Montauk’s indigenous Native Americans
So, the next time you think about escaping from your busy schedule, please consider the possibility of coming to the Sleepy Hollow in Montauk. You will have a unique equine experience at this ranch, which will forever change your views on ranches and horses.
I hope this piece was inspirational and gets you to think differently :)
