My Lovely New Saddle :)

About two months ago, I noticed my horse was getting a little bit sore after our rides. After a few weeks off and then getting back into riding again, his soreness persisted. Reluctantly I had a saddle fitter out, who broke the not-so-pleasant news to me... I needed a new saddle. When I bought my horse in May, I bought my friend's used Pessoa A/O, but it turned out to be too wide for my horse; we tested out all of the saddle pad options under the sun with not much luck. And the worst part was that the saddle was foam flocked, and it would cost an arm and a leg to change it over to wool. I ended up finding someone to buy my old saddle, and purchased a new Pessoa! So far I really like it, even though I've only ridden in it a few times. :) It is wool flocked, and the best part is that it has an adjustable gullet, so it will fit my horse forever, I hope! After around 20 hours of riding in it, I will have the saddle fitter back out again to make sure that it fits my horse right... Gosh, he has such a sensitive back!

What saddle do you ride your horse in?

I had the same problem with my mare, I just bought a Bates dressage with changeable gullet, knee pads and wedges, as my girl is an easy feeder, ( read founder horse), and the new saddle has changed her entire attitude, it was the last step in finding out why she wouldn't go forward.
