As horse enthusiasts, I am sure you can relate to the images of our horse enjoying a good roll in the mud! Yes, we are Wisconsinites, and due to the awful winter weather still lingering, we gave our Romeo his first full bath of 2013 last weekend. Mind you, he is still shedding out and is half wooly mammoth, but he was such a good boy for his first full bath. So, he was washed, conditioned, clipped & beautiful! We made sure he was dry and led him out to the pasture.
As we approached the gate, he put on the brakes and nearly sat down. What would cause that you ask? MUD! He did not want to walk through the goop that would surely ruin his glistening white hinds! After coaxing and treating him, he finally relented and walked through the slimy black goop. He then proceeded to trot across the pasture to find a great place to roll in the mud!
Yes, that is our beautiful horse enjoying his spa day with a good roll in the mud! Who knew his aromatic sparkling coat would be so short lived? All in a day's fun at the barn!
