Well as you all know by now I have taken my baby girl back to basics and am really filling in the holes that I jumped thru in her training.
Yesterday afternoon I decided to work with her after a busy horse filled day. As I was walking to the barn I saw a tarp. So I grabbed it. She hasn't seen one or played with one since she was a yearling. So I was curious if the training has stuck. LOL
So I walk in to her padock with it in hand. No Halter No Lead rope and it is time to PLAY!
I decided to see if the yielding hindquarters and fore were sticking with her at liberty. So I started our ground excersies loose in the paddock and was happly surprised that she did understand my body language and that we were communicating and understanding each other. I was a very proud mama!
Next I grabbed the tarp and and threw it at her feet. No movement out of her. she just looked at me like "why did you do that?". Next I covered her with it and we started walking around (remember at liberty). She was just fearlessIt was just wonderful!
So when I could see she was gettig bored it was time to go get her tacked up and get her going to some more new and exciting tasks.
it was just great working with her and I am looking forward to moving forward and getting back to riding her in the future.
