A shameless plug for my sister Dawn.

Want to get away from the City grind? Need a vacation? Love the Outdoors? Check out 3 Lazy B Ranch & their Horseback Adventures & Guided Trail Rides in God's Country. You will always be glad you did! Located in High Desert Nevada.  Ask for Dawn (775) 296-1511 & tell her I sent ya!

Vacationing on horseback is thrilling. The smell of the great outdoors & the views between your horses ears & of course all around is the best there ever was or will be. Be sure to take a camera wth lots of film or flash cards. It will be a trip you'll want to revisit over & over.

There are many places you can go on horseback during your vacation all over the U.S. While in the plug above it says Gods Country, really it all is His country. Amazing mountains & streams, flat lands & plateaus. Most guided trail rides or tours range in different time limits which is great if you've never ridden before. The shorter time limits allow you to get adjusted to riding & still see some beautiful country side. If you have a basic knowledge of riding, taking the longer rides will give you optimum chances to see wild life & just relax to take it all in. Some even give you the opportunity to camp out overnight which is a total added bonus. Camping out gives you the opportunity to eat as they did back in Old West days. Perhaps with more modern foods, but still if you've never cooked on an open fire you're in for a treat. It's quite a different experience when compared to grilling or cooking on gas or electric. Though most of the tour guides do the cooking for you.

If you haven't ever taken a guided trail ride, I suggest you give it a try for your next vacation. Take an extended ride if possible just to give yourself that time in the great outdoors & away from the city life to unwind, slow down & just breathe. I love riding out in the wilderness. It's so freeing & relaxing. No phone, no tv, no computer. No worries or stress, & hustle & bustle.

Thanks for checking out my blogs. I appreciate all votes & comments. :)

  2. The Mane Idea
All the places that i would love to go are just too far to haul my own horses. And I'm afraid i just wouldn't enjoy myself so much on a borrowed horse. Someday maybe. ...

I can appreciate your dilemma. You trust your own horses, you know them & are comfortable with them. Though it is something to consider. I can't speak for all the other horseback adventures, but I can speak for my sisters horses. They are well taken care of & have been there, done that. She often times will spend most of the summer out on the trails with her horses. As for the others, the "great" places will ask you your riding experience & put you with a suitable horse. Always do your homework first :)
